Cherry Blossom Festival

Spring has sprung here in DC, and with it, the famous Japanese Cherry Blossoms. Unfortunately we went about three days late and almost froze to death, but they were still gorgeous and we had a nice Sunday morning just the three of us.

St. Patty's Day Fun

Although we don't have any Irish in our family, St. Patrick's Day was always a big deal growing up. We woke up to find that the leprechauns had turned our food green, we had to wear green garb or risk being pinched by one, and my mom often had a fun treasure hunt planned for us to find the gold at the end of the rainbow.

Now that I am married to a man that can trace both sides of his family back to Ireland, I can legitimately celebrate St. Patty's Day through my "adopted" Irish blood. And when Reece is older, that is exactly what I plan to do. However, for now I will enjoy watching from a distance. Which is just what we did this year. Old Town Alexandria and the pier were full of those who were celebrating the day in one way or another. Here's a look at how we spend the day:

Don't worry. We did find some leprechaun-dyed ice cream. And it tasted delicious.

DC Temple Trip

Sean and I were finally able to make it to a session in the DC Temple thanks to awesome Uncle Tio. It was an absolutely gorgeous day out, and Kevin spent the entire two hours walking around outside with a sleeping Reece. We were so grateful for the chance we had to get back to the temple. Afterwards we took Uncle Tio to lunch at Rock Bottom Brewery to say thank you. Such an awesome day!

It's Spring!

It is warming up here in DC, so Reece and I decided to enjoy the weather. It was her first real adventure outside, and she loved it! It also provided awesome light so I was able to get some body-shot photos of her that I have been wanting. I have a feeling we will be outside a lot this summer!
